Privacy Policy

Letrix — Connect. Sync. Belong.

Last updated: August 30, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Letrix collects, how Kairos Ltd ("we", "us") uses it, and the choices you have. It applies whenever you use the Letrix app.

2. Information You Provide

When you create an account, we collect your display name, email address and/or phone number, and password. You may optionally add a profile photo, cover banner, username, bio, birthday, status message, and social media links. Messages, voice messages, group content, and Status updates you send are stored so they can be delivered and displayed to their intended recipients.

3. Information Collected Automatically

We keep track of basic activity signals needed to run the App, such as when you were last online, whether you're currently active, your device's push-notification token (so we can deliver alerts), and your language and appearance preferences. These are stored either in our backend database or locally on your device.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: operate core features like messaging, groups, Sync, Stories, and calls; show your profile and presence to people you interact with; send notifications you've opted into; maintain the safety of the App by reviewing reports and blocks; and improve reliability and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Who We Share It With

Your messages and profile details are shared only with the other users you choose to interact with (e.g., a message is visible to you and its recipient; a group post is visible to that group's members). We use Appwrite as our backend infrastructure provider to host our database, authentication, and file storage — Appwrite processes data on our behalf and under our instructions, not for its own purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Kairos Ltd, our users, or the public.

6. Local Storage on Your Device

Some preferences — such as your notification and privacy toggle settings, dark mode choice, and chat theme — are saved directly on your device using browser local storage, rather than on our servers.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account information and message history for as long as your account is active, so the App can function as expected. If you delete a conversation or piece of content, we remove it from active display; residual copies may briefly persist in backups before being purged. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted entirely, contact us through Settings → Report a Problem.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You can review and update most of your information at any time from Edit Profile. You can control read receipts, last-seen visibility, and who can invite you to Sync from Settings → Privacy. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to certain uses — reach out to us to exercise these rights.

9. Data Security

We rely on industry-standard practices (including encrypted connections and access-controlled backend infrastructure) to help protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Letrix is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can review and, if appropriate, remove it.

11. International Data Transfers

Because our backend infrastructure may be hosted in a different country than the one you're in, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Letrix's features evolve. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where a change is material, we'll do our best to let you know in-app.

13. Contact Us

Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your data, can be sent through Settings → Report a Problem in the app, or via our official WhatsApp channel linked in Settings.
